We are seeking a smart and ambitious full-stack engineer to join our founding team and head our engineering function. This role requires a passionate individual who is comfortable with taking on multiple responsibilities.
As a founding engineer, you will have a key role in setting the foundation for the engineering team and the company. Your responsibilities will include
- making foundational architectural decisions,
- steering product direction,
- hiring and training other engineers
- and create processes for business operations.
The role requires an entrepreneurial full-stack engineer who is comfortable with wearing multiple hats, such as frontend, backend, DevOps, customer support, hiring, etc. and working in high-velocity environments.
This role can be a stepping stone for those aspiring to be an entrepreneur or engineering leaders.

What youβll do:
As a founding product engineer, you wear multiple hats:
Engineering - Development
- Owning the continuous delivery of customer value by writing code, researching and making decisions on technical debt, component building, and foundation engineering.
Engineering - DevOps & QA
- Owning the smooth functioning of DevOps and QA automation to enable multiple small releases throughout the week.
- Troubleshooting performance and reliability issues and improving application performance.
Product & Customer Support
- Be resourceful, and work in the absence of complete specs or fully formed designs.
- Working closely with customers and the founder to shape, prioritize, and plan projects.
- Go from abstract ideas to deliverable features.
- Propose solution architecture design
- Break down projects into the smaller tasks
- Align with the team
- Running quick feasibility tests to make build vs. buy vs. stay decisions to solve problems.
- Providing customer support and answering product questions, triaging bugs, and gathering feedback.
As a founding engineer, you will also gain exposure to all other aspects of the business, including hiring, people operations, fundraising, marketing, and sales. You will be expected to own the product and pitch the companyβs vision. Your role is to support the team in doing whatever it takes to get our product to market.
Job Requirements**:**
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience working mainly in tech (product-based companies).
- Strong software engineering skills.
- Professional experience with both front-end and back-end technologies. π
- Experience with software engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- A willingness to take ownership of the product engineering function.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a high-velocity environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.

Location
We are currently set up as a fully remote organization and we are able to do our best work remotely. However, we will try to arrange an in-person meeting of up to 2 weeks in the first 6 months.
